Water beads are tiny balls of silicone polymer resin that expands when added to water. They are not toxic, however unexpanded beads should be kept away from small children in case they swallow them.
Our smaller beads measure 2 – 2.5mm and expand to 12 – 15mm.
Our larger beads measure 2.5 – 3mm and expand to 15 – 17mm.
Originally designed to use in pot plants and cut flowers to gradually release water whilst supporting the plant of flowers, water beads are now a decorative statement on their own.
Available in many different colours (see our shop) they make a stunning display mixed or layered in glass vases, bottles and bowls.
Their texture too is a sensation on its own. Have a bowl of water beads available to dive your hands (or feet) into and feel yourself relax.
Water beads do slowly release water depending on how wide the opening of the bowl or vase you are using is. Simply rehydrate them by covering them with water for 4 or more hours and draining them again.
Used in conjunction with candles or submersible LED lights, the water beads make a stunning decoration at weddings and other special events.
Unless crushed or allowed to get dirty, your water beads will last for around two years or more.
